Muqtada Al-Sadr Issues Recommendations for Najaf and Bans Commercial Use of Al-Sadr Family Images

mniraq - Shiite National Movement leader Muqtada Al-Sadr issued a set of recommendations concerning Najaf on Thursday, September 10, 2026, calling for stricter oversight of markets, restaurants, shops, and products to ensure compliance with religious and health regulations. Al-Sadr stressed the importance of preserving Najaf's status and warned against practices that could negatively affect the city. He also called for stronger oversight of commercial activities and preventing goods, food, and beverages that violate applicable laws and regulations. He further emphasized the need for female workers in public transportation, particularly flights heading to Najaf, to comply with hijab requirements. Al-Sadr also announced a ban on the use of Al-Sadr family images for all commercial purposes, stressing that the reputation of the family and Najaf must not be violated.
