Ministry of Finance Launches First Phase of Program Budgeting, Starting with the Electricity Sector and Two Provinces

Minister of Finance Faleh Sari announced the launch of the first phase of the program and performance budget, which will initially cover the Ministry of Electricity and the provinces of Diwaniyah and Salahaddin, with plans to expand across all state institutions over the next three years. During a meeting with the Parliamentary Finance Committee, the Minister explained that the electricity sector was chosen to ensure that substantial financial expenditures are directed toward measurable and sustainable outcomes. Meanwhile, the two provinces were selected to accelerate developmental and service projects. The meeting also discussed strategies to maximize non-oil revenues and fulfill financial obligations, emphasizing joint coordination between the executive and legislative branches to ensure the success of financial and administrative reforms.
