Ministry of Agriculture Outlines Land Allocation Mechanisms for the One Million Housing Units Initiative

The Ministry of Agriculture affirmed its full commitment to supporting the national initiative to construct one million housing units across Iraqi governorates by selecting non-productive agricultural lands located near city centers for the project. The ministry emphasized its strict adherence to enforced laws prohibiting the bulldozing of orchards and productive agricultural lands or converting them for non-agricultural purposes. This step is being carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Housing and local government bodies to sort and allocate suitable lands for eligible citizens, ensuring that urban expansion needs are met within legal frameworks without compromising food security and the agricultural sector.
