Midland Oil Company Launches Drilling of First Appraisal Well in Middle Euphrates Fields

mniraq - The Midland Oil Company announced the commencement of drilling for an appraisal well within the Middle Euphrates fields, under the directives of the Ministry of Oil. The operations are being executed by a specialized foreign company as part of a program that includes drilling eight wells, four of which are vertical appraisal wells and four are horizontal development wells. The new well is located within the Marjan reservoir in the desert area of Karbala Governorate, targeting the Hartha formation at a planned depth of approximately 900 meters. This drilling follows geological and geophysical studies that revealed promising indicators for the reservoir's development. The drilling and testing results are expected to provide precise reservoir data to determine geological distribution and production capacity, paving the way for commercial production. The Middle Euphrates fields span an area of 1,100 square kilometers.
