Kurdistan Regional Government Announces Official Holiday for the Islamic New Year

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced the suspension of official working hours in all government departments and institutions across the region in observance of the Islamic New Year (the first of Muharram). Official authorities in the region issued a statement confirming that all affiliated institutions are included in this decision, in honor of this significant religious occasion that represents a prominent milestone in Islamic history, commemorating the Prophet's migration which established the beginning of the Hijri calendar.
