The Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced the launch of a new round of official talks aimed at resolving outstanding financial files between the two parties. A high-level delegation from Erbil arrived in the capital, Baghdad, to hold extensive meetings with officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Supreme Audit. The funding of KRG employees' salaries tops the agenda, especially after Erbil reported difficulties in handing over agreed-upon local revenues due to recent regional variables. The Kurdish delegation seeks to discuss mechanisms for implementing the Financial Management Law and ensuring a continuous flow of funds, in addition to addressing differences regarding the implementation of the comprehensive electronic customs automation system and the allocation of revenues.
