Israeli Ambassador to Washington: The Agreement with Lebanon Ensures the Removal of Iranian Influence and the Disarmament of Hezbollah

The Israeli Ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, described the agreement signed with the Lebanese government as a strategic step to restore stability and preserve the sovereignty of both nations. Leiter emphasized that the operational framework of the agreement ensures the exit of Iranian influence and Hezbollah from Lebanese territory, paving the way for the implementation of the peace process. The signing ceremony took place at the US State Department in the presence of Secretary Marco Rubio, who considered the step the beginning of a long path of joint work. In a related context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that Israeli forces will maintain their presence in the security buffer zone inside Lebanon to ensure the disarmament of Hezbollah, considering this a major blow to Tehran.
