The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed on Thursday (May 7, 2026) circulating reports regarding the possibility of reaching a historic agreement between the United States and Iran, confirming its continuation of its active diplomatic role in bringing the two countries' viewpoints closer.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry stated that his country welcomes anything that would calm tensions and sign an agreement serving peace and stability, emphasizing that the confidentiality of the mediation process and not revealing negotiation details represents a fundamental guarantee for preserving mutual trust between the conflicting parties.

He added that Pakistani authorities are still unaware of the specific location for signing the potential agreement, but expressed hope that Islamabad would witness this historic event, which would represent pride and honor for the Pakistani people.

The Ministry affirmed the continuation of its efforts as a trusted mediator, without disclosing dates or venues for upcoming dialogue rounds, while emphasizing its commitment to de-escalation and supporting comprehensive political solutions.
