IRGC Affirms Continued Closure of Strait of Hormuz Amid US Threats

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed as long as US threats against maritime navigation persist. In an official statement, the IRGC emphasized its naval forces' full control over the strait, noting the interception of two oil tankers attempting to deviate from safe routes under the instigation of US aircraft. The vessels were forced to retreat after a fire broke out on one of them. The statement strongly rejected any foreign interference, vowing an immediate and decisive response to any aggression, and warned allied nations against supporting hostile actions. It further stated that US rhetoric only complicates the situation and hinders any prospect of reopening the strategic waterway.
