Iraqi Parliament Member Amir Al-Mamouri revealed major financial and technical irregularities in a contract to supply 800 motorcycles to the General Traffic Directorate in Anbar, valued at over 24 billion Iraqi Dinars. The lawmaker pointed out that individual motorcycle costs exceeded 33 million dinars—comparable to modern automobile prices—and highlighted that 2021 models were imported through customs ports despite contractual specifications requiring 2023 models. Al-Mamouri called on supervisory and judicial authorities to initiate an immediate investigation into the procurement procedure and unfulfilled training provisions.
