mniraq - The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Tuesday (September 15, 2026) the launch of electronic admission to the Excellence and Artificial Intelligence colleges at the University of Baghdad for the academic year 2026-2027.
According to the ministry's statement, admission requirements stipulate that the student must be a graduate of preparatory studies for the academic year 2025-2026 with an average of no less than 85%, in addition to passing the English language test and the personal interview for admission.
The ministry clarified that admission to the two colleges is distributed according to academic branches: students of the scientific branch may apply to all departments of the Excellence College, while literary branch applicants are limited to the departments of Business Administration and E-Commerce, Accounting and Banking, and Philosophy and Sociology. Graduates of the scientific branch may also apply to the departments of Engineering Applications, Biomedical Applications, and Big Data at the Artificial Intelligence College.
The statement indicated that first-round students are entitled to apply to both colleges, and if the admission plan is not completed, vacant seats will be filled from first and second-round graduates according to the minimum thresholds of the departments.
The ministry noted that the application form allows a scientific branch student to choose at least two departments at the Artificial Intelligence College and three departments at the Excellence College, or arrange his choices from both colleges together, while literary graduates must choose at least two departments at the Excellence College, confirming that applications are submitted through the Qaddam platform and continue until Sunday, September 27.
