Iraq Witnesses First International Overland Transit Shipment Between Syria and Kuwait

Competent customs authorities announced on Saturday the arrival of the first international overland transit shipment via the Al-Waleed border crossing, originating from Syria and destined for the State of Kuwait through the Safwan crossing. Relevant entities confirmed that specialized personnel completed all verification and auditing procedures of official documents with high efficiency and in accordance with applicable regulations, paving the way for its transit through Iraqi territory. This step is considered a strategic achievement that contributes to accelerating international trade, reducing costs, and activating land transport corridors and commercial connectivity among neighboring countries, in line with government plans to modernize and automate border crossings.
