mniraq - The General Director of the International Transit and Transport Office at the Iranian Road and Transportation Organization, Hossein Hosseini, announced the entry into force of the international land cargo transport agreement between Iraq and Iran. The agreement transitions trade relations from preliminary memorandums of understanding to a comprehensive framework, allowing transport fleets from both nations to utilize each other's territories for transit to third countries. Officials highlighted that this move replaces traditional border transshipment with direct transport operations, noting that over 7.49 million tons of goods have been moved across land borders since the beginning of the current year.
