Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei emphasized on Friday (May 8, 2026) that the US administration is sinking into a quagmire of strategic error, and that its cosmetic attempts through social media will not change field realities.
Baghaei said in press statements that softening labels such as "light slap" cannot erase the shame of deliberate aggression stemming from narcissism, greed, and miscalculation, confirming that the entire world has become witness to the consequences of this reckless adventure.
He added that contradictory and misleading media statements have lost their credibility in the face of changing reality, noting that the US administration becomes more insistent on justifying its mistakes the deeper it sinks into them.
These positions came amid escalating tension between Tehran and Washington against the backdrop of ongoing military and security confrontations in the region.
