The Ministry of Electricity revealed a comprehensive strategy comprising two paths and five main pillars aimed at adding new production capacities and raising the total national power output to record levels by 2030. The Ministry explained that this plan falls under the government program and seeks to boost capacities by constructing new power plants, completing stalled projects, and converting other stations to combined-cycle systems to enhance efficiency. The plan also includes expanding solar energy projects and developing transmission and distribution networks. The Ministry relies on maximizing the utilization of local gas and reducing its flaring, in parallel with diversifying fuel import sources to ensure operational stability. Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized that regional electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries are a fundamental pillar for achieving energy security and providing greater flexibility for the grid during peak times or emergencies.
