Basra Governorate is experiencing a severe fuel supply crisis, as government and private filling stations witness long queues and heavy congestion of citizens' vehicles in search of petroleum products. Residents reported that the shortage in regular supply and the lack of a smooth distribution process have led to traffic paralysis and vehicles queuing for hours. Meanwhile, unofficial entities have exploited this crisis to revive a "black market" with significantly inflated prices. Citizens have urged relevant authorities in the petroleum products distribution sector to intervene urgently and immediately to resolve this administrative and service failure, demanding the provision of sufficient quantities of fuel that meet standard specifications to end the public's suffering and ensure the stability of the province's economic activity.
