A member of the Coordination Framework ruled out a civilian figure managing the security ministries in the next government, pointing to initial understandings regarding the criteria that should be met by candidates for these sensitive portfolios. He said that the past period witnessed widespread circulation of names nominated to assume the security ministries through social media platforms and some media platforms, including the proposal of civilian figures to fill those positions, but he believes that the nature of these ministries requires figures with specialized military and security backgrounds. He explained that managing complex security files requires accumulated experience, strategic vision, and the ability to deal with security challenges at various levels, making it difficult to assign these ministries to figures who do not possess sufficient field or security experience. He clarified that there is a preliminary agreement among political forces on three basic criteria that must be met by candidates for the security ministries, represented in possessing a military and security background, having political independence, and that the candidate be known for his national track record and enjoys political acceptance and consensus. He indicated that an important meeting will be held to discuss the file of the security ministries, especially by the Coordination Framework forces, expecting that the coming hours will witness decisive developments that may lead to settling the candidates' names and determining the date of the confidence-granting session for the new government. This political movement comes amid continued intensive consultations between political forces regarding the distribution of ministerial portfolios, with special attention to the security ministries, which are considered among the most sensitive files in forming any government, due to their connection with security and military files, combating terrorism, and internal stability.
