mniraq - The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, stated on Thursday (August 20) that the country's oil exports have come to a complete halt, bringing oil revenues to zero. Hemmati explained that Tehran is seeking to collect its financial dues from countries with which it has trade relations, noting that Iraq owes debts to Iran from previous commercial exchanges valued at $12 billion annually. He added that while the Iraqi government has committed to paying these dues, it is facing economic challenges due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the disruption of its oil exports.
