Najm al-Qassab, head of the Al-Mawrid Group for Strategic Studies, proposed that Baghdad should condition its talks with Iranian officials on obtaining clear exemptions guaranteeing the unhindered passage of Iraqi oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Al-Qassab emphasized that Iraq is the most affected by the strait's closure, stressing the need to invest in the positive bilateral relations between the two countries to resolve this crisis, which has severely impacted the local economy and foreign trade.
