mniraq - The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced the completion of preparations to resume the commercial maritime activity of the Iraqi Line in the Gulf region, following a hiatus of over half a century. The ministry confirmed that the first maritime voyage will launch in mid-October, heading from Jebel Ali Port in the UAE to Umm Qasr Port in Iraq. This historic return aims to boost commercial transport, support economic exchange with regional countries, and restore the national carrier's role in regional cargo and container shipping, after its voyages ceased in the 1960s.
